Whilst we are very proud of our school, we know that no one gets things right all of the time. We are committed to working with you to provide the absolute best for all of our children and this includes responding quickly and proportionately to concerns that you raise. We believe that learning is a lifelong endeavour, and we have systems in place to monitor any concerns and complaints received so that we can evaluate how quickly we resolved matters and how effective the resolution was and use this to improve our practices.
Every school has a full governing body and is supported by the Clerk to Governors.
We are:
- A group of people drawn from the school and the local community
- Responsible for ensuring the strategic direction of the school and the provision of high quality education
- Responsible for promoting effective ways of teaching and learning when setting school aims and policies. This responsibility is delegated to the Headteacher who has the responsibility for the day to day management of the school
The Governors fulfill three core functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent
The full scheme of delegation can be found here:
We work by?
- Appointing governors to Lead roles within the governing body. Governors are responsible for carrying out the Terms of Reference for their Lead Roles which work alongside the Governor Action Plan and Safeguarding Framework
- Meeting twice per term, three times in the Autumn term
- Ensuring our meetings are open to the public
- Making our meeting agendas available on the website. Full minutes of each meeting available on request (Part II minutes are not available to the public and cannot be shared outside of the governing body)
