Parliament’s Education Services

The School Council had a visit from Roz Birch, an outreach worker from Parliament’s Education Services. They learned all about how Britain’s democracy system works by competing against each other in parties to make decisions for the school by leading their own manifesto campaigns. Though this was role play, the children were able to fully understand the process of a General Election in great depth. Roz then led an assembly to years 2-6 to explain how new laws are made in Britain. Children learned all about the roles of the House of Commons, the House of Lords and even the Queen.
