Royal Banquet at East-the-Water Primary

East-the-Water Primary School were delighted that the Queen and Prince Harry were able to squeeze in a visit to East-the-Water during their busy wedding schedule. The Queen even brought along her favourite corgi ‘Luna’. The royal pair spent time chatting to the children in the playground, joined in with the Royal Banquet and even took time to visit all the classrooms. Hunter, age 10, said “It was really clever how someone could dress up looking just like the Queen, even with her dog. It was really fun that the children and the staff dressed up too.” Three cheers to the school’s Cook Maxine, Canteen Staff, Teaching Assistants and Midday Supervisors who altogether ensured that the children celebrated in style. The children presented the Queen and Prince Harry with a slice of the royal wedding cake. Headteacher Catherine Higley commented “The children came to school dressed up as different characters from a royal court eg butler, maid, prince, knight, we even had a jester and a horse to pull the carriage. This added a special level to the celebration.”
