Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage Unit
Every child should have the best possible start in life and the support they need to fulfil their potential. A secure and happy childhood is important in its own right and provides the foundation for all children to independently explore and develop within stimulating experiences and healthy relationships.
2 Year Old Provision
Our 2 year old provision, Little Tiddlers is integrated into our main unit and is registered by OFSTED.
Little Tiddlers offers morning sessions, 9am to Noon daily. Little Tiddlers is available to children the term of their 2nd birthday. The nursery is staffed by highly qualified Early Years educators. It is exceptionally well resourced and includes a safe and secure outdoor play environment. The learning is stimulating and exciting, extending the rich learning your child has already established at home.
Early Years Policies
We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential.
A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right, and provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up and progress through their education at East-the-Water Primary School.
Language and Communication
Getting ready for school involves your child being able to talk: using longer sentences and new words, talking about things they can do, listening to others and asking questions.
Talk is being able to understand those around you, being able to say what you think. Your child needs these really important skills to make friends, learn new information and enjoy the world around them.
SEND
Our governors, SENDCo and early years team have a crucial role in ensuring that positive steps are taken to plan and provide for all children with special educational needs.
Together with parents, we will identify the right partner and endeavour to meet each child’s educational, health and social needs within the local community.
